About the Project

We are excited to introduce Muse, a cutting-edge meditation tool designed to enhance mental health and well-being. Muse combines advanced electroencephalogram (EEG) technology with mindfulness practices to foster mental clarity, emotional balance, and cognitive strength.

In 2024, The Brenda Strafford Foundation trialed Muse across four of our continuing care sites, and participants were encouraged to use the app a minimum of three times weekly. The trial aimed to explore Muse’s benefits for seniors in continuing care and support staff to manage mood and thoughts, promoting overall mental well-being.

Impact of the Project

Participants in the Muse pilot project have shared positive feedback, highlighting the calming and stress-reducing effects of the device:

“I found Muse very relaxing, I used to meditate years ago and I never know something like the headbands existed. It was so relaxing, I thought I would fall asleep." – BSF Resident

"With meditation, you calm down and you're not worried about the outside world. It helps with ‘mind over matter.’ The power of the mind is an amazing thing.” - BSF Resident
