Rec@Home Pilot Project

About the Project  

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BSF identified an opportunity to bring our Adult Day Program (ADP) directly to seniors at home. Launched at Bow View Manor in August 2020, this virtual initiative later evolved into the Rec@Home program in April 2022. Through Rec@Home, seniors could participate in meaningful Therapeutic Recreation programming from the safety and comfort of their own homes, enhancing their quality of life, reducing social isolation, and promoting overall well-being. 

Impact of the Project 

• 2,274 total number of programs offered over the lifetime of Rec@Home 
• 2000 total program hours provided (estimated) 
• 117 total participants, including caregivers over lifetime of Rec@Home 
• 32-40% improvement in participant's mood (Feb 2023 survey results)
